About the Lussim stud
A cattle stud farm specialising in breeding top quality Simmentaler cattle with exceptional reproductive potential. We are located 70km from the Botswana Border (Martins Drift/Groblersbrug) in the northwest of the Limpopo province of South Africa. Our animals are free grazing under extreme environmental conditions in the hardy and overall dry South African bushveld – classified as the country’s harshest Heartwater area.
LUSSIM Simmentalers is a registered breeder with the Simmentaler/Simbra Cattle Breeders’ Society of Southern Africa.
All our animals are registered with BreedPlan International [add website link]and are managed mainly according to animal breeding values. Our objective is to breed animals with EBVs to match or exceed the higher end of the society’s ideal breeding values. In order to continuously improve our herd, we follow strict breeding programs which include artificial insemination and embryo flushing.
